Zoom

I'm the weirdo creep that takes screenshots of people during Zoom meetings.

I do it a lot more than I realized. I just find people so fascinating and I want to capture a candid facial expression or document a funny background.

I don't like, share it or ever tell the person (I would never want to make someone feel bad because it's always in love or humor). I'm just a weirdo creep.

If you Zoom with me, beware XD

I do the same thing. Is there a 12 step program for people like us?

Because I only use Zoom for work, it’d be extra creepy if I did that.

I have taken photos of Aurora responding to my sister on FaceTime, though. My sister’s reaction depends on what face she’s making. heh.

.... most of my screenshots are of coworkers. Bahahaha. But I think because Steve and I work at the same place, it's... less?... weird because he knows the people.

For example, we had a going-away party on Zoom for Karen, and one of our above-50-year-old coworkers DEFINITELY pregamed beforehand, and she was being SO FUNNY. I actually got the CUTEST candid screenshot of her making the biggest, joyful smile. So pure and cute <3

And, ngl, I would screenshot students probably too. I have a million candid pics and videos of students, and I'm SO HAPPY when they pop up on timehop. What fun memories.

I've always been afraid of taking photos of students, personally, even if I don't post them anywhere.

Also, Roberto was let go from Dish years ago for recording conversations during a break with co-workers who happened to be friends.

I think if I worked in a suburban or affluent area I would? Just because I find that the more common demographics in those areas are more cautious or protective? My experience in urban areas is that parents/guardians appreciate more informal contact and taking a real interest in students and their personalities and lives. If that makes sense. Like, suburban = formal and urban = informal.

In the urban district we weren't allowed to POST photos publicly without parent permission. In the suburban district there was no such indication.

I can see where recording colleague conversation would be a breach of privacy and like "break room talk" is off the record, eh?

I do know that what I do is risky, but I don't overdo it or share it with anyone at all. Because yes. TECHNICALLY all of those things are violations of privacy. For sure. And I acknowledge it and know that it could blow up in my face :P

I would do the same thing, so you're not alone there.

I turned off my camera at an IEP meeting so I could snap a pic of my student, who was sitting on mom's lap during the meeting, LOL

See this is why I change to fun backgrounds during Zoom. If someone is going to screenshot me let it be with dragons battling behind me.
