Vlogmas!

December is Vlogmas, so I've been spending a lot of time recording and editing, amongst living my day.

Vlogmas is where you record Day in the Life (DIL) every day until Christmas, and I also open a yarn Advent Calendar. This year's advent is from HighFiberArtz and I LOVE IT! I add all videos to a playlist, and if you're interested in spending ~15 minutes with me per day, check them out!

Right?? It's a neat way to break up content and I LOVE watching the bits and pieces of people's lives. I like a good mix of montage and conversation :)

I will not lie -- I did not watch the whole thing. I did listen to it though! It's really hard for me to sit down for too long, so I tend to put videos on and listen as I do other chores or exercise and such. I watched the full intro, caught glimpses of the knitting, then fully came back for the closing.
If you had a podcast about your days, I'd definitely be on that!

Oh, no worries there - Vlogmas is definitely meant to be a "listen and glance at when you are doing other things" casual video! I'm never offended at being a second or third tier background noise :)

Ooh, tell me more! What are you interested in? Narration of a day, "come along with me," OOTD, etc?

Hm. I'm not sure. I've never really thought about the actual content as much as the honesty behind what is being said. Like, there are a lot of celebrity drama channels I watch not because I care about the celeb, but because I like how the vlogger expresses their opinions on things. I guess I enjoy it when I can listen in and feel like I'm in a conversation with someone, if that makes sense.

Ah! Okay, that makes some sense. i am SO not in-tune with pop culture anymore - I don't want shows that are on TV or listen to podcasts that aren't gaming or knitting or social justice related, etc. But I know what you mean on feeling like you're talking and in conversation. Do you have any faves?

I think so -- but I don't know the name of any of them, lol. I only know it's them when the video starts running as I clean or something. Typically, I just run suggested videos and whatever comes up, I listen to. It's a big mix of paranormal videos, exercise videos, crime stories and pop culture. With pop culture, I never know who or what they are talking about, but I know I don't agree with a lot of the nonsense! lol. Most of the ones I've listened to aren't drama channels that fuel the fire, but that break down situations and kind of go at them from a normal point of view.
It's not so much X and Y are feuding and here's what's going on!
It's more X did this, and this is why it's problematic. What'chu think?

But those pop culture videos could just as easily shift to knitting or social justice, for example, and I probably wouldn't even care as long as the story telling style was good. I'm more about conversation and discussion than actual content.

Oooh, okay, very interesting! I see what you're saying. I think that could be a good interspersing within my general knitting video content - there's definitely a lot of social justice and situations to break down within the knitting community :P

You've given me a lot to think about :D
